Job Title: Azure Cloud Engineering Lead

Provide cloud infra services, maintain Azure platform for Aus. Super. Focus on Azure platform improvement, IaC code, DevOps. Tech-forward leader needed for cloud native services & automation. Solve complex design & engineering challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Set project eng approach standard
  • Deploy & configure Azure workloads with Terraform (essential) & ARM/Bicep in DevOps
  • Develop & maintain monitoring tools for managed env
  • Apply security principles across Azure cloud (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)
  • Hands-on development to address complexity, build, test incl. non-func areas
  • Review tech designs for func, resilience, sec, reuse, simplicity
  • Advise business on tech implementation & potential tech debt
  • Collaborate with tech teams, architects, delivery squads, principal eng, project managers
  • Input to designs across projects & tech, align with standards/principles
  • Guide engineers in detailed design
  • Develop solution, detailed, & func design docs
  • Diagnose & design prod fixes, minor enhancements
  • Contribute to system improvement
  • Design tech solutions to automate processes with DevOps
  • Contribute to design models/patterns repository
  • Provide tech leadership, align cloud solutions with architecture, standards, best practices

Capabilities & Experience:

  • 10 yrs in medium to large IT env
  • 4 yrs working with Azure Public Cloud, IaaS, PaaS
  • DevOps or DevSecOps strategy exp.
  • Hands-on deployment & infrastructure building in Azure using Azure DevOps CI/CD
  • Deep understanding of Azure IaaS, PaaS, app hosting
  • Skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar
  • Infrastructure as Code exp with Terraform, ARM templates
  • Container frameworks knowledge (Docker, K8s, AKS)
  • Expertise in running IaaS, Azure Backup, Azure Monitor
  • IAM knowledge incl. Azure AD, ADFS, SSO, Modern Auth
  • Knowledge of Azure Policies
  • App dev exp, SDLC knowledge desirable
  • Deep understanding of cloud sec best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to explain tech concepts in business terms
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
