The Manager Caseload (COSMOS), Postnatal Care in the Home (PNCITH), and Breastfeeding Services role is a leadership position assuming the effective and efficient operational management and coordination of Caseload (COSMOS) including the Baggarook caseload model specialising in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander maternity care, Postnatal Care in the Home (PNCITH), and Breastfeeding Services as well as the maternity services Ward Clerks.

The Manager Caseload (COSMOS), Postnatal Care in the Home (PNCITH), and Breastfeeding Services will be responsible for ensuring that the unit achieves its hospital and key performance indicators (KPIs), whilst setting the direction for the unit to ensure services are provided to the highest standard that emphasise excellence in service, multidisciplinary collaboration, efficiency and evidence based approaches.


Your contribution
Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Provide efficient and effective human resource management to direct reports including but not limited to recruitment, performance management, staff appraisals, and professional development.
  • Ensure that all staff are supported in working professionally, safely and effectively, in accordance with RWH evidencebased guidelines, and relevant professional standards.
  • Provide effective and supportive leadership to all direct reports, and in all professional interactions.
  • Ensure that adequate staffing with appropriately qualified and credentialed staff is achieved in accordance with legislative and industrial requirements.
  • Effectively manage and achieve budgets and operational KPI's such as leave liability, competencies, performance development plans for direct reports for all allocated services/cost centres.

About you
To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • AHPRA registration
  • Registered Midwife
  • Previous management experience and demonstrated experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing clear direction and effective leadership of a multidisciplinary Team, creating united Teamwork based on shared direction and values.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural safety and the issues affecting the health outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and newborns.
  • Proven experience in effectively managing and achieving budgets and operational KPI's.
  • Proven ability to manage, inspire and lead change within health services.
  • Efficient and effective communication skills.
