Tax Specialist - Compliance & Governance
12 month fixed term contract with extention available.


We have a fantastic opportunity available for a tax professional to join a large, listed business within their Group Tax Function.

This role has a broad corporate tax remit and there will be a strong focus on tax risk & compliance, automation, process documentation and improvement and data analytics.

This particular position will deliver income tax services to the various business units, including preparation and review of tax effect accounting calculations, income tax returns and income tax advice.

Other activities include collating and drafting transfer pricing data and documentation and preparing written communication for tax authorities, auditors and senior finance personnel.

Reporting to the Tax Manager, the main responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Prepare income tax returns and associated disclosures as well as transfer pricing documentation.
  • Prepare and review tax effect accounting calculations ensuring Global Tax Group policies and SOX requirements are met.
  • Prepare tax calculations for inclusion in quarterly planning process.
  • Draft income tax and accounting advice. Provide supporting workpapers for transactions and/or projects.
  • Identify and implement process improvements through the use of technology (i.e. automation)
  • Lead by example and demonstrate best practice. Contribute to the team's training schedule and participate in the training
  • Review FBT returns for specified entities and operating sites
  • Will have approx. 35 years' experience in a corporate tax role either in a Big 4 accounting firm, a midtier accounting form or a large listed organisation,
  • Will be degree qualified and have a relevant postgraduate qualification such as; CA/ CPA/ Masters of Tax,
  • Will have experience with Tax Effect Accounting,
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Independent, organised and selfstarter individual
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate an ability to critically analyse complex problems and large volumes of data.
  • Proven aptitude for solving problems in a team environment.
