Senior Data Scientist

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our AI and Data Science team as we move beyond Automation and simple AI models. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help shape the role and direction of AI and data science in the Global Supply division of Flight Centre Travel Group.

In this role, you will harness advanced analytics and Generative AI to extract valuable insights from complex datasets, propelling data-driven decision-making processes.

A day in the life...

• Analysing and interpreting complex data using statistical and machine learning methods, applying advanced time series modelling methods 
• Developing, testing, and deploying scalable machine learning models on cloud infrastructure, including generative models like llama, mistral. 
• Building applications or services on Gen-AI such as chatbot, workflow automations, and extraction from unstructured data source.  
• Provide advice and input on the strategic direction of data science and AI to the Head of AI & Automation 
• Stay abreast of advancements in AI, particularly in Generative AI technologies, to keep our practices and outputs at the cutting edge. 

Who you are...

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist, with a portfolio that includes projects utilizing time series modelling, end-end data analytic projects using ML models, or building services around Gen-AI models. 
• Strong or experienced in Gen-AI frameworks and libraries such as but not limited to Langchain, Llamaindex, Autogen, pandasAI. 
• Strong programming skills in Python or R using libraries such as Pandas  
• Strong experience in deploying models using modern tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure). 
• Strong statistical analysis skills including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and probability distributions using languages like Python or R  
• Strong understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure) used for deploying AI models and handling large-scale data operations. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, as data scientists often work with cross-functional teams 

Extra travel points if you have...

• Knowledge of emerging Generative AI technologies such as Large Language Models (LLM), feel comfortable in agentic design, prompt engineering, and information retrieval methodology such as RAG.
