Brisbane, Australia KPMG Australia Full time

Job Description

KPMG Enterprise is a specialist division of KPMG Australia, dedicated to advising the emerging, private, and mid-market. We work with established and emerging entrepreneurs, family businesses, private clients, not-for-profits, and fast-growing companies to build successful, efficient and resilient organisations. By bringing our diverse expertise together, we give our clients the confidence to focus on the things that will truly make an impact and help them grow.

Our Business and Tax Advisory team supports clients managing their compliance and looking ahead to plan for their continued business success and growth. We are equipped to decisively deliver new ways of thinking, big-picture perspectives, and acute insights that help clients make informed decisions.

Your Opportunity

  • Diverse portfolio of clients. Manage the estate planning objectives of a client around their personal estate assets as well as non-estate assets via other legal structures.
  • Manage the entire process from initial client meeting(s), review of source documentation, provision of taxation and SMSF legislative advice, discussion on key estate planning issues, and highlighting estate planning ‘gaps’ for further consultation.
  • Co-ordination and involvement in family meetings. Implementation and coordination of advice and liaison with estate lawyers re: drafting of relevant estate documentation.
  • Consideration, advice, and implementation of key issues around business succession to the next generation or external parties.
  • Continual client relationships and managing changes of family circumstances to estate planning structuring and documentation.
  • Clear articulation and collaboration skills. Working with the wider family to counsel, mediate, and support the estate objective concepts of the patriarch and/ or matriarch.
  • Exciting opportunity to ‘make a difference’ to the legacy and family harmony of clients and next generations.
  • Ability to listen, absorb, and be objective and factual in your approach.
  • Be a part of the wider KPMG Enterprise group and gain exposure to working alongside other advisory service lines as we work to fulfil our clients’ needs.
  • Work with a Personal Development Manager on your career growth and personal goals.
  • Develop your skills across a broad range of tax issues and/or specialisation in your chosen field.
  • Grow as a mentor and develop managerial skills, overseeing team members, encouraging their continued professional development.

How are you extraordinary?

You are passionate about the importance of fantastic communication to share ideas, inspire, and create change. You are able to digest, distil, and communicate complex concepts in both written and verbal forms.

You are able to oversee high-quality client-ready deliverables and present directly to clients.

Your Experience

At KPMG, we believe diversity of thought, background, and experience strengthens relationships and delivers meaningful benefits to our people, our clients, and communities. To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience could include:

  • Strong technical skill set in SMSF, taxation, and estate planning legislation and implementation with the willingness to learn and continue to develop your skills.
  • Strong time management, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills will be key as you develop relationships with key stakeholders among our clients.
  • Ability to ‘think outside the square’. Knowing the family objectives, what tax, superannuation, estate issues need to be considered?
  • A client centric approach and ability to understand your clients’ business.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications such as CA or CPA (or equivalent) are advantageous, as are law degrees/qualified lawyers.
  • We will also consider people who have a strong financial advisory background.
