Position Overview: This school are seeking a passionate and qualified Classroom Teacher to join their team in a shared teaching space, focusing on Grade 1-3 students. This role is crucial in delivering individualized education plans (IEPs) and fostering a supportive learning environment where each child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that are adapted to the individual needs of students with intellectual and learning disabilities.
  • Implement IEPs effectively, ensuring learning goals are met through differentiated instruction and innovative teaching methods.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, aides, and support staff to provide holistic support to students.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes inclusivity, respect, and active participation among students.
  • Monitor student progress closely, assess learning outcomes, and adjust teaching strategies as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for development.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelorâs degree in Education or a related field (Special Education preferred).
    • Valid teaching certification/license for the appropriate grade level and state requirements.
    • Proven experience working with students with moderate to severe intellectual and learning disabilities.
    • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
    • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational needs of students with diverse abilities.
