Do you have concreting experience with bridge structures? This is an opportunity to work on maintenance and construction projects for Brisbane City Council.

This team will work on a rotational day and night shift roster, the ideal candidate must be flexible with both rosters.

Day shift rates: $49.98 per hour + Super
Night shift rates: $74 - $99 per hour + Super

Day shift hours: 6am - 4pm
Night shift hours: 6pm - 4am

Location: William Jolly Bridge, Brisbane City

Start: End of July 2024

About your new role

You will lead and coordinate a team to deliver concrete repair projects on Cross River Bridges and/or City Structures assets. Adherence to strict WHS practices is essential. Your duties and experiences will include:

  • Lead team performance by setting clear goals, providing support, and giving feedback.
  • Effectively follow tasks assigned by supervisors and engineers.
  • Interpret and read technical plans
  • Improve processes and increase efficiency.
  • On-site administrative skills, including recording and preparing written information.
  • Problem-solving skills for daily on-site issues.
  • Advise on resource needs and time frames for new projects.
  • Ensuring safe work measures are implemented and adhered to.
  • Conducting daily toolbox meetings.
    • Experience in completing form-work to a heritage standard.
    • Building and erecting form-work and form-work shutters for pile capping, abutments, head stocks, columns and slabs.
    • Creating forms for bridges, foundations, beams and staircases.
    • Building structures on site using wood or putting together metal frames.
    • Experience in steel metal form-work.
    • Using power tools and jackhammers for concrete breakouts.
    • Measuring, cutting and shaping wood or metal.
    • Experience with basic labour tasks like sandblasting, spray painting, and concrete repairs.
    • Checking work for accuracy.

      What you will need to exceed

      It is essential that you have the following:

      • Proven leadership experience
      • Drivers license
      • Working at heights ticket
      • Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
      • Trade Qualifications - Formwork Carpenter
      • Structural concrete repairs experience
      • EWP ticket
      • Dogman ticket
