ESS manages all aspects of large-scale accommodation facilities, or “villages” for remote workers, providing the essential comforts from a hot meal, a clean bed, freshly laundered workwear, to health and wellness facilities for those working away from home. 

We are seeking an innovative chef for our mining village based in Newman to elevate our culinary offerings in village. If you are excited to create dishes in a unique environment, this role is for you 

The successful candidate will be working in our state-of-the-art lifestyle villages, complete with swimming pool, gyms, and a well-equipped kitchen with the latest equipment to bring your awesome pastry ideas to life

The Position 

  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes to high standards, considering dietary requirements and guest preferences. 

  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, following food safety and hygiene protocols. 

  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service during peak hours. 

  • Adapt to different environments and kitchens while consistently delivering exceptional culinary experiences. 

The Person 

The candidate will have experience working in a high volume, buffet-style kitchen. To be successful, you will need: 

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Trade Certificate 

  • Creative flair and passion for experimenting with flavours and ingredients 

  • Experience in fast-paced environments, ideally in remote site kitchens 

  • Knowledge of food safety standards and culinary techniques 

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team 

  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening and national police clearance 

  • Meet Covid-19 vaccine requirements 

  • Flexibility to work on a DIDO roster, demonstrating adaptability and resilience
