Locations available: Parramatta, Penrith, Surry Hills.

This is a temporary contract, working full time hours (37.5 per week) through Randstad.

About the role:

This role involves providing technical, professional, and operational support and advice to address complex security issues.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing protective security advice to the department, including strategic partners in the community.
  • Assisting in the development, maintenance and review of protective security policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring and reporting on compliance with mandatory security framework requirements.
  • Preparing, monitoring and reviewing security plans, site security reviews and risk assessments.
  • Assisting in the continuous improvement of departmental security through the development and delivery of training, awareness and education programs.
  • Contributing to the management of departmental security operations, overseeing security maintenance programs, troubleshooting and rectifying security system faults and issues where required.
  • Obtaining metrics and providing reporting in support of managing Agency security risks and identifying and reporting emerging security issues/incidents/trends and providing solutions.
  • Assisting in the management of Security, Emergency Management and Incident reporting protocols.
  • Contributing to the development, management and delivery of identified protective security projects.

    About you:

    • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Government protective security policies and procedures (desirable).
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi skilled and geographically dispersed team to achieve a broad range of security outcomes.
    • Proficiency in providing high level administrative support.
    • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and in high-stress situations.
    • Leadership skills and experience in managing teams or projects.
    • Understanding or lived experience of disability is beneficial but not mandatory.
    • Australian citizenship (mandatory).
