To continue our success, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join our team on a temporary 8-month contract. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of Australian wages in accordance with statutory legislation, relevant industrial agreements, company policies and procedures and other contractual requirements. This role supports the management team by providing accurate and timely reports with analysis to identify trends and other notable items. This role also provides a high level of customer service to all employees for general payroll queries.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure allocated Payrolls are processed on time and in an accurate manner, ensuring compliance with the relevant Payroll Processing Schedule and Task List.
  • Act as a Super User of Kronos and support payroll/HR teams on ad-hoc queries and issue resolution.
  • Updating and maintaining the employee master file and leave entitlements in Affinity in accordance with legislation and written instructions received by Human Resources.
  • Enquires and requests from all employees are responded to with acknowledgement within 24 hours and are actioned in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies/procedures and business controls to ensure all transactions are processed correctly, saved electronically and have been properly authorised before payment.
  • Maintaining data integrity and compliance to industrial instruments (e.g. EBA/Modern Award).
  • Provide punctual reporting to the HR and Finance functions regarding Workers Compensation, Leave Provisions and Labour Costings
  • Demonstrated commitment to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate and exercise a commitment to promote, develop and improve the health, safety and welfare of our people.
  • Provide assistance to the National Payroll Manager, Payroll Officers and Payroll Accountant in order to archive the departments operational and strategic goals.


Qualifications

About you:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in a large and complex multinational payroll environment, preferably FMCG or other manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with the Affinity Payroll System and Kronos Time and Attendance system (preferred).
  • Proven ability to deliver an end to end Payroll process.
  • Experience interpreting multiple Enterprise Bargaining Agreements
  • High attention to detail in own work and as a checker/auditor
  • Great time management skills with the ability to work to moving deadlines.
  • Sound level of super, tax and payroll legislative knowledge.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and strong Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Proactive skills to identify, analyse and resolve system issues.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with exceptional written and verbal skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels.
